Andrea Bottell is an Italian- Argentine artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a Master degree in Architect from Buenos Aires University in 1985.
Since her childhood she experimented with clay as a way to play and express herself, in her youth she participated in the private workshops of renowned ceramists of Buenos Aires. This paved the way for her artwork to acquire local reputation based on ideals of clear concept synthesis, absence of superfluous details yet tact and talent for the expression of conceptual content and emotion.
The groundwork for her career was first laid in the private studios of Buenos Aires and Uruguay, and then she worked from her own studio in Buenos Aires. She was a member of The National Studio of Ceramic Art from 1985 to 1995. Her piece, Pareja I, earned “First Mention” in the 1987 show. The Belgrano University’s annual “Jovenes Artistas” show crowned the same piece 2nd “highest with honors” in 1988.
Since 2001 she is living in South Florida, working from her own studio. Most of her work is base on Human Figure, a mural series of Faces is now in The Latin Art Expo in West Palm Beach FL, with great success.
