Great news! We’re having a weekend sale! This one is on two of our favorite DVDs: Deb Schwartzkopf’s Pieces and Patterns: Complex Forms from Handbuilt and Wheel-Thrown Parts and Guy Michael Davis’s Fundamentals of Mold Making and Slip Casting. If you are someone who likes throwing and handbuilding interesting forms, Deb’s video is for you. If you come up with a great form and want to be able to repeat it exactly over and over, Mike’s DVD will give you the low-down on mold making slipcasting.

In celebration of the sale, we have two video clips of the week: In Deb’s clip, she demonstrates how she makes the super cool bottoms of her cup forms with a slab and a bisque fired mold. She then skillfully attaches the base to a bottomless wheel-thrown cylinder, which she then darts and alters to make the shape just right.

In Mike’s clip, he explains how easy it is to make attachments with cast pieces – just dip and stick! – Jennifer Harnetty, editor.
