My studio is a walk-out basement situation in my home that extends into the yard for 8 months of the year. I work with Porcelain, Stoneware and Terracotta, consecutively throughout the year. I produce functional pottery, garden sculpture and jewelry for selves and homes. I am a middle school visual art teacher during the school year and my clay work is done nights, weekends and all summer. Each year, in the fall, I have an exhibit in the community where I live and that keeps the clay supply flowing. When I am working with clay I find myself exploring different dimensions of interactions between people, between people and objects, and between people and themselves. For me there are no real distinctions to be made between these different types of relationships.
