| Studio Description: | Housed in an old Elementary School building, the Heritage Arts Institute began as an economic development initiative. Currently we offer a Master Potter Certificate. This is not a degree program, but rather continuing education meant for any adult interested in learning about ceramic arts and possibly making a career in clay. We encourage all students toward creating a craft business and offer classes in the business of craft as well as clay. During the year, advanced students are encouraged to participate in 3 to 4 craft shows, two of which are organized by the students and are regional indoor craft shows. The facilities are open Monday - Thursday 8-9, Friday 8-noon The ceramics facility currently consists of: 3 electric kilns 1 gas kiln 1 Manabigama wood kiln currently under construction 1 raku kiln 2 test kilns (electric) and experimental kiln parts 4 kick wheels 28 electric wheels 2 slab rollers 2 extruders 1 Spray booth | ||
