| Studio Description: | John Baymore has been a woodfiring potter since 1969. His work is heavily influenced by historical and contemporary Japanese ceramics. Currently most work is fired in a four chamber noborigama located near the Souhegan River in southern New Hampshire. John has twice been a presenter at NCECA conferences, as well as presenting at other diverse venues from the Alabama Clay Conference to Harvard University to the NH Art Educators Conference to local Lion’s Club functions. He was the recipient of the Judge’s Special Prize in the First Mashiko Ceramics Competition. John was an invited participant at the First Woodfiring Aesthetics Symposium in NYC in 1981 and was recently invited to represent the USA at the International Woodfire Festival in Aomori, Japan in 2002 and again in 2003.
