| Studio Description: | Background - Lifetime as sculptor in clay, , casting to bronze and plaster of
paris and latterly firing the clay. This lead to an increasing interest in
ceramic and getting hooked on the potter’s wheel. Exhibits in Gibraltar, Southern Spain and Cornwall, England. Currently specializing in thrown work combined with coiling and modification. Usually incorporate various colors of clay into the base colored clay at the coiling stage so that they show through the body of the work. Glazing is most often therefor gloss or matte transparent. Thus the concentration is on giving continued life and value to the clays, their colors and textures. Strongly influenced and inspired by the doorstep presence of al Andalus and the Magreb. |
