Janice Hofmann on Health Benefits
Owner of All Fired Up! Ceramic Art Center

“I had given up on getting my own health insurance which meant I had to keep my day job or take the gamble of being unisured. My business, All Fired Up! Ceramic Art Center in Chico, California was doing well, but combining it with a job was too much! Twice before my husband and I were declined coverage after submitting applications to Blue Cross and Blue Sheild. This was shocking to me because we are in excellent helath, height/weight proportionate, non-smokers. BUT my husband had on his medical records that he had some diagonstice tests and now we were considered uninsurable. When I saw the ad on the website that the Potters Council had an opportunity for health insurance I was very skeptical but initiated contact. After a brief and friendly conversation with Mike, we applied and I am happy to say, have a great policy AND the premium is $200 less a month than the policies we were denied. I am VERY happy and I get to focus on my business and my art 100%.”

Gregg Lindsley on the rewards of membership
Here’s what charter member, Gregg Lindsley, has to say about the credit card benefit provided by Potters Council:

“I’ve been using the credit card service for my pottery business for 7 years now. It is through Paymentech Services, and is easy to use. The charges for Master Card and Visa processing are lower than normal, and there is a $3.50 per month carrying charge. I use the phone system, where I call the credit card number into the company over the phone, and the money goes into my checking account. It takes six days from the time I call to the time it shows up in my account. I use my cell phone, and I know right away if it is a good card or not. Often I wait until after a show or at the end of the day at the gallery to call in that day’s sales. I would recommend signing up for this service using the special form for Potters Council members. Their staff is easy to work with and I have found them most helpful fixing the few problems I have encountered.”
