Studio Description: I am a ceramics studio artist in Okemos, Michigan and I work in a home studio. I was born in Hiroshima, a beautiful, large city located on the Western side of Japan’s main island.
In 2002, I moved to Philadelphia and studied at The University of The Arts, where I received a BFA in Craft in 2006. Finally, I found my life time passion: ceramics!
After my marriage moved me to Michigan, I studied at Michigan States University and completed a Post-Baccalaureate Program in ceramics in 2007. After finishing the one year of intense study, I started working on my own studio.
In 2009, I joined The Greater Lansing Potter’s Guild and, after one year, moved back to my own, home studio. Japanese colorful and distinguished patterns have always attracted me and I often apply Japanese patterns on my pottery. I add clay slip patterns, carve designs, or hand paint tedious lines with glazes!
