Studio Description:
My earliest exposure to clay was at the age of 10 and a pottery class in high school. I became a picture framer soon after that, and framing has been my only creative outlet for the past 28 years. I was re-introduced to clay in October of 2008 at our city’s pottery studio. The first night at the studio someone asked me what was I going to do? Hand build…slab work? I said no, I’m going to give the wheel a shot. I actually made something and couldn’t believe it! At that very moment I was hooked.

I am inspired by nature, mythology, and satire with humor. My works so far are a combination of wheel thrown and sculptural. I love detail, texture and I have come to embrace the realization that I can evoke an emotional reaction from people with just a little lump of clay.

I call my studio “the Guest Room” because originally it was the first place I converted to a clay workroom. www.theguestroomstudio.com

I am currently enrolled in a ceramics/pottery class at Cochise College while working on several collections of work. I feel I have connected with clay on an intuitive level. The more I learn about it and the process the more I realize the only boundary clay has is the limitation of my ideas.
