The
opening reception is from 6-8pm. Light appetizer food reception will be
provided during the registration. You will receive your registration
packet and you will be able to schedule your classes while you enjoy
meeting other attendees and presenters.

Scheduling your classes The conference is set-up so that you may pick and choose which classes to attend over the two-day event. In the attachment you will find the schedule. Please review the schedule carefully. Note: Each attendee has the opportunity to see 4 out of the 6 presenters. By dividing the group between all presenters will ensure that the demonstrations are not over-crowded. We appreciate all your co-operation to help us make HANDMADE TILE & MOSAICS conference an event to be remembered.
Saturday - Registration and Artists Presentation location If you are unable to make the Friday night opening reception, Saturday morning will start with Registration from 7:30-8am. Coffee andTea will be provided in the morning.

Special Events throughout the Weekend
Minnesota Tile Festival
As an attendee of the Handmade Tile and Mosaics conference you will also get to attend the Minnesota Tile Festival. The 8th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival will bring together 40 of the most talented, skilled, and award winning tile artists in the country. You can purchase some of the most dynamic and cool handmade tiles and mosaics in the country.
The MN Tile Festival showcases a hybrid mixture of arts festival and trade show all about handmade art tiles and mosaics. The festival is presented at historic setting of the American Swedish Institute. As our host the American Swedish Institute will be giving free tours of the Turnblad mansion with a focus on its eleven historic tiled stoves. Year after year patrons tell us this is the best festival they have ever been to and this year will be better than ever
Attendees will have the opportunity to have a Swedish lunch and attend the MN Tile Festival on Saturday. Potters Council will provide bus transportation to and from the event. There is NOT an additional charge to attend the festival and have lunch.
Attendees will be provided a lunch ticket. We will have a staggered lunch at the festival. On your lunch ticket you will find a time for your lunch. Please be sure to follow the times, this will allow for a smoother service of lunch.

Registration Desk and Packets Please note that the registration desk will be open throughout the weekend. A Potters Council representative will be located at the desk during the workshop to answer any questions you may have. We will also have art books at a 20% discount (http://www.ceramicartsdaily.org/books/) and discounted Potters Council T-shirts and pens available.

Sunday Pottery Exchange The Pottery Exchange will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 12:45 pm. This is an optional event. What a great way to end two days of sharing and learning by participating in a pottery exchange. Be sure to bring one piece of your personal work (no large pieces) to be exchanged with a fellow artist. This is sure to be one of the highlights of the workshop. Please bring your piece on Saturday or Sunday and place on the designated table located in the gallery.

Walker Garden Tour and Car Pool
Virginia Dains has been kind enough to put together a list of people who are interested in participating in a car pool. If you’re interested in this please email her at geobot@hughes.net.
Virginia has also put together a list of people interested in touring the Walker Garden on Saturday after the conference. The garden is open until midnight and is well lit and safe for groups at night according to those in the know at the Edina Art Center. Virginia will print up some maps for those interested in joining in on this adventure.
