Artist Statement: When I sculpt with clay, the essence of the Earth guides my hands and my vision. What emerges is primal, instinctual, and multi-dimensional. I am always surprised at what the Earth shows me. “It’s all about the process” my mentor often says and I agree. The process of creating teaches more than building techniques and firing combinations. When we become aware of the wonders of creation we open ourselves to glimpse the continuously changing universe. We allow ourselves the chance to be in the moment of creation. I hope my expressions with clay carry such moments for the viewer. Sharing my visions through art is an honor and a privilege.
