Vote today for your favorite emerging ceramic artist! Early each year in our offices, the Ceramics Monthly editorial staff spends hours and hours, poring over hundreds and hundreds of images, with heated deliberations (sometimes resulting in fisticuffs) going well past quitting time,* to jury the annual Emerging Artists competition. The competition is open to ceramic artists who have actively been pursuing a career in ceramics for less than ten years.
Well, they did it again. They have chosen 15 wonderfully talented ceramic artists who are featured in beautiful full color in the May 2011 issue (arriving in mailboxes soon).
For several years now, we have had a little contest on Ceramic Arts Daily in which you, dear readers, get to choose your favorite from the selection in our Peoples’ Choice Emerging Artist Contest. This year, we have upped the ante a bit and the winner will receive a $500 gift card to Bailey Ceramic Supplies, who has graciously sponsored the contest.
So check out the artists and their work below and cast your vote through the link at the bottom of the page! The voting will be open through Friday, May 6 and we’ll announce the winner on Wednesday, May 11.
And finally, we’ve made a lovely printer friendly e-book of all of the emerging artists, which is now available as a free download: Fresh Work in Contemporary Ceramic Art: Ceramic Sculpture and Pottery by Emerging Artists! Download your copy today! – Jennifer Harnetty, editor.
