Most potters, at one point or another, move beyond the basic clay tool kit and make specialized tools from scratch. Send us a video of yours!

As you’ve seen over the years on Ceramic Arts Daily, ceramic artists are some of the most creative people out there when it comes to the tools they use. If a tool doesn’t exist to get a particular job done, no problem. A clay person will probably just make what they need. A bunch of MacGyvers, we are.

So, we thought we would bring back our popular DIY Clay Tools contest.  This year we have another fabulous prize from a generous sponsor as well. Digital Ceramic Technologies has graciously agreed to give a brand-spanking-new ceramic printer to the winner (a $6000 value). Read on, for more details!

Also, to get you fired up, in today’s post I am posting the video that won the last time we had this contest. – Jennifer Harnetty, editor.

The entry deadline is Monday, September 10, 2012, so get out there and start filming!
