As far as silent wheels I have yet to hear one more so than a shimpo VL whisper. These make the pacifica's seem very noisy which they are not.
Brents are up on the noise scale. I own 4 of them so I can say that easy.

The only way I know is to make a shrinkage bar -you can search here on how to then as its in 10 millimeters you measure it in those various states and its a straight percentage. I have this info wet to bisque and bisque to cone 10 on a few bodies but not the info you need.

Nelly said (I would wait and buy the Bailey)
I could not agree more
I know of no opne who has regtreted a baily-resale value is always good as well.
Northstars used to have plastic gears in the cheaper ones-I think they corrected that but they lost me as a believer .
I waited and also got a Bailey. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Never looked back.

Welcome aboard Heidi
Seeing how this thread has gone so far sideways I can maybe bring it around.
I do a lot of albacore fishing each summer and trolling is a good thing not a negitive thing.
We troll for goodness with tuna. I have been call a tuna head for years.
so see a troll can be a great asset.
On another note seeings as you are in Washington State come drop by my booth at the Anacortes Art Festival -1st weekend in August-put a face to the name etc. Bring the husband as I like trolling and a good one who mixes glazes and clay is indeed a rare catch.
As you said being part of the community is really what its all about.

In Topic: Hot item at today's show.......
Posted 19 May 2013
My success at functional ceramics is to offer as many forms as I can at a show. I make about 40 forms now. When folks ask for something I do not make I will need about 50 or more requests to consider it as then when I do make that form another slower selling form drops off my list.
Honey post have always been on the make list but are never big sellers. I have seen less and less potters make them these days. I used to keep bees so I still use honey and make the pots.

10 Apr 2012 - 08:49I am trying to think of a witty comeback for the cat ignoring me-from the $27 million dollar cat dish story. I'm usually pretty quick. Regards, Tom.
