Gabi long time hobby potter with first own Kiln now.
About Me
Hello, I am a hobby potter since 1985 or so and have my own kiln now.
I have done Hand building and throwing work and also worked with Paper clay.
In the past I fired my work at a schools or where the workshops were held that I
participated but now with my new second hand kiln I can fire at my own pace.
I would like to learn how to make my own glazes (mostly stoneware).
I have some glaze recipes but don't really know how to mix them in the
right proportions to get the right amount (like 1 bucket) or how to make small test batches.
I hope to learn that in a 2 day glazing course here in Perth at Tafe where I am booked into for 2012.
Besides I have lived in Germany most of my life and moved to Australia in 2003.
We have much more space here, so I can have my little area in the shed which I call my studio.
Any suggestions from the advanced potter about pottery, glazing etc. is welcome and appreciated.
