  1. What Do You Pug?

    I may have figured out why my pugmill ruins clay. My question is for those who love the way their reclaimed clay comes out of the pugmill. What exactly do you pug? Is it mostly scraps from the splashpan (if you're primitive enough to use one), pots that never make it off the wheel, etc. or is it mostly finished pots that have dried and were ready to be bisqued but you scrapped because they cracked or broke or it didn't pass the fresh eyes test?

    Spring, "Wrestling Sky" in the new CM is wonderful. I just wish the picture was larger but even that wouldn't do it justice because I think you need to stand close to it to see and hear it move. Congrats!

    Is spraying the inside (obviously including the elements) of an electric kiln with ITC a good idea? Do you have any experience with this, neilestrick?

  4. Glaze Calculation Software

    I'm used to working with glazes the old fashioned way, intuition and pencil and paper, so I've put off buying glaze calculation software and haven't even looked into what is available. Before I do does anyone here have any suggestions? Also, does the software tell you when a glaze has too little silica, etc. to be stable?

    It's just a good clay. It has a nice, rough texture and a great range of colors depending of how high it is fired. Obviously, never really becoming vitrified is a negative.
