Hello everybody,

I've been reading this forum for a few years, I've just never registered for the forum until now. I've taken a workshop from Chris Campbell, and recognize a few other names here. I've been doing pottery for about 15 years on and off, and have recently resigned from my job as a graphic designer in order to pursue pottery as my full time career.

Stephen (the spineless troll as he's been called here), is my husband. He is not a potter yet, but is learning. Mostly, he supports me by making glazes and mixing clay for me. His interest in coming here is the same as mine; to learn, ask questions and get involved in the community. He is also learning to throw pots. I assure you he's not a troll, in fact he's a pretty great guy.

All he meant by his post was that a few people here seem to take enjoyment in being cruel, rude and obnixous. I think he was surprised that people would risk their reputation in business, as was I. He wasn't trying to take any "pot shots" at the group. After reading the frenzy of posts, I think it is obvious who the wolves in the pack are, it's not that complicated.

The majority of posters here are professional, respectful people, and for that reason we will both continue to visit this site and learn from those people. To those people I would like to say hello! To the others, I will quickly discover how to use the ignore button, so don't bother attacking me. I won't play.

Well I was certainly not saying the forum should be santitised. It is your forum and if you guys like the way it is then its fine. I did have a slight impact as I noiticed Mr Sandefur edited some of his choice words such as 'spineless' and such from his initial post to me. He could have left them in I guess and I certainly don't care. I guess that I was just taken back more than anything since this is the online front for the organization and I thought maybe you didn't realize how prevelant it is. People are being treated badly on some threads, it is intentional and artist and professionals from all over the world are wandering through here so I guess I don't get what possible good can come from letting a coulple of folks wander around from thread to thread intetonally insulting people for sport. I personally find it embarrassing that a 10 year potter from Australia felt she was treated badly in our organizations forum. No it can't be stopped completely in a forum but letting the same folks do it over and over again is just a shame, thats all.

Anyway thank you to those who posted and I do appreciate your points of view as well.
