About Me
I am the owner / operator of Atlanta Clay in Atlanta GA. I have been open for 1 year and have been in the supply business for 10 years at this point. I pride myself on our shop using a "by artists, for artists" mentality. We use what we sell and we've done a wide variety of firing ranging from pit and raku, to salt and soda, with everything electric in between.
I am a handbuilder and am in love with the slab-roller and the co-owner of the shop works primarily on the wheel.
I mostly work in abstract sculpture and formulate microcrystalline barium/lithium glazes to fire at cone 04-2. I down-fire to get crystal growth.
Daphne (co-owner of Atlanta Clay) works mostly in porcelain - was a soda-fire enthusiast but has had to switch to electric because of our shop's location. We both graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta - under Kathy King.
So - if you have any questions - feel free to email!

Microcrystalline low fire glazes - fired to cone 04-2. I work sculpturally - and am primarily a handbuilder. I do occasional cone 6 functional adaptations of my sculptures and also do some functional porcelain work with old school tattoo drawings on them. I enjoy a wide variety of clay work (when I have time to do it!)
I also love to cook - bake - and grill (or smoke!)
