Less time bisque firing
Posted 7 Jan 2013
Just finished an 05 bisque firing on my Skutt 1027. Seemed strange that the firing was 2 hrs & 30 min shorter than what I normally do. I don't usually pack the kiln for a bisque, but this time I had a lot of work so packed it pretty tight and full. I'm thinking the amount of ware held heat better, thus a faster firing. Any comments appreciated. -

Yesterday's firing
Posted 11 Aug 2012
Just had to "toot my horn" a little, really proud of this little piece. Laguna Speckled Buff, Potter Choice 3 coats of Toumaline over 3 coats of Deep Firebrick brushed on. Could be a bean pot?? gumbo pot !! individual peach cobbler !! or maybe a cheese grits pot !! The handle is hollow and raised in a method that Simon Leach shows on a video.
