I started with pottery after a beginners class was offered in a community an hours drive away. Having gotten a taste of what working with clay offers I found a local guild with wonderful equipment and with another class taken, I was off.
We have a orchard that is demanding in it's upkeep (mowing, spraying, pruning thinning etc) I found time organization to return to a project and finish trimming or attaching pieces the most difficult. So with my wife's encouragement we
walled off a portion of our orchard building and turned it into a studio. Fully equipped, it's become my retreat to indulge myself with all aspects of potter.
Although my work is selling it's not the reason I do it. Having had a hobby previously turn into a business I finding my love and inspiration wane as I tried to meet deadlines and co-ordinate meetings and installations with contractors, I promised
myself to pursue the aspects that interest me and will let me grow at my own pace.
