Talc bodies

Hi everybody
I make my own bodies for my ceramic works. The formula is very simple such feldspar, local clay, and china clay (high fired body). Actually the formula has already make me satisfied. But I have read that the body formula can be added talc to lower the vitrified body. Also talc can make the body has a good thermal shocking. I just wanna make sure of that statement. How about whiting? what is the used if added to the body. I really appreciate for any reply.

raw glazing

Hi everyone
Is this topic has been discussed before? I want to try single firing, so glazing bone dry state. Are there special treatment for this, either the techniques or the materials? because you know, bone dry pot is very frangible in application of the glazes, especially in pouring and dipping techniques. I read the article that we can add flocculant agent like magnesium sulfate and calcium chloride or may be there is another ingredient. Is that true?

Hi guys
About 6 months, my bowl with sig has been displaying in my workshop. But there is oddities when saw the surface body. At the first time, the surface was red shine. But now the surface change into dull red and has black spots. Why this happens?
I attach the following bowl. Before (mangkok sig) and after (picture 199). I really appreciate for all comments.
Toxic glazes

Hi everyone
As long as i know, the high fired glazes are safely used for food and beverage containers. But i read in some ceramic books, the glaze that contains barium oxide is harmful even have high fired. Also the glazes that contain chrome, zinc, and cooper. Is that true?
Is there any technique to determine that the containers are save as containers. I just to make sure that the plate, mug, cup that i have bought safely.
How about low fired glazes? I think the low fired glazes mostly dangerous as food and beverage containers. How about raku? i see raku wares used as container in Japan. Is that true?
Blebbing and blistering

Hi everybody
I had glaze failures in my works. I used commercial base glaze for my recipes. When I added coloring oxide such mangan, zircon and stain of blue and brown, the glaze had succeed. But added red stain the glaze became blebbing (small air bubbles) and willl be blistering if broken out. Any idea why this happens? Any comment I really appreciate it.
