I work mainly on the wheel, making tableware and other essentially usable pieces - objects which are more than just decorative - especially drinking vessels. You can engage with a drinking vessel much more closely than with any other art form. (How often have you held and stroked a painting, or felt a sculpture with your lips?!)

I love developing glazes. I'm intrigued by how they interact with the clay and each other to create infinitely variable visual and tactile effects.



From time to time I also enjoy hand building more abstract, sculptural forms, where the glazes can be allowed a freer rein.
