About Me
Muse, writer, gamer geek, emerging artist.
Clay has become a near-obsession because it is the middle ground between my two favorite mediums -- fabric and wood. It can take the fluid shape of fabric, but also as a finished piece, the durability of wood. It can be "appliqued" and stitched, carved and joined, or some combination of all. About the only thing that doesn't come naturally to it is wearing (clothing, not jewelry); but I'm working on it! I love that clay is whimsical; it can be functional or, with no utilitarian purpose whatsoever, take a vogue-ish pose demanding, "Look at me!"
My husband -- who primarily works in clay and leather -- and I are taking small steps toward learning the business end of running a studio. We sell a few pieces here and there -- he does more than I do, mine tends to be given away, but slowly "Curious Raven Pottery" is coming together.
Technologically savvy enough to be dangerous in the way middle-aged women often are.
When I was young the question was, "What's your sign?"
Gemini.
Now, the question is "What's your alignment?"
Chaotic neutral.
