About Me

I've been working with clay since 1982 at the University of Tn, Knoxville. Starting full time in about 1993. I've exhibited in art fairs including St James Court, American Craft Council shows, and the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands.
I handbuild with slabs mainly, since falling in love with the process early on. I work with earthenware clays and fire in oxidation.
Before clay, I carved abstract sculptures in wood and stone, in styles similar to Henry Moore and Brancusi. So, I generally have a very sculptural approach to clay, and not quite the Leach tradition.
