I don't think the temperature of the clay makes a difference. It could be the type of clay. Some clays are more plastic than say handbuilding clay. Plastic clays throw easier but they can crack and warp easier. This is true for all themperatures. Some clays are plastic but may be less prone to cracking. It is always best to find a clay that suits your purpose/or way of working.

If you can run it through a computer system to work it into one soda spare, go ahead. I just think it is simple the way it is. Iy mixes up nice and creamy. I figure don't mess with a good thing.

Tight load! I love car kilns. I fired one for 20 years. I loved just rolling the door shut.

Thanks Mark. I put double feet on all the plates.
That matt green is a favorite glaze and my husband really liked the combination I made for his expresso cups, so I offered it to my niece. She liked it too. The recipe is in the gallery with the jpg of the green plate if anyone is interested. It is from Michael Bailey's book on Cone 6 Glazes.
