About Me
My artwork explores the ordinary, day to day subjects, but with a fantastic and sometimes abstracted skew. Sometimes with something as simple as pain, to the complexities of human spirit, I bring the viewer my perspectives of our often overlooked portions of ourselves. I try to boil down the most basic of human emotion, labors, and personas and try to cut away all the fat and leave the viewer with my core vision of what it is that should be seen and experienced in my own mind while leaving a figurative work to be seen. My figures are meant to be seen as extensions of our own selves. While sometimes fantastic in nature, the human condition is still there to be viewed in plain sight for the viewer to associate and form their own dialogues .
My media tends to span multiple types and is often fashioned to suit the image that I have laid out in my mind.Three dimensional works force a whole new understanding and relationship with the way I work . Typically, ceramic hand building, carving and casting are my preferred medias, simply because of the flexibility they offer to create vast differences in size and space.

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, giveorders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." — Robert Heinlein
