    I haven't put together my magnetic grippers yet but I have purchased every thing for them and spent under 20 dollars. John255 posted Feb 2013 directions and pictures on how to make these. It seems like a really simple project, I haven't assembled mine yet because I am finishing other projects first. I'm hoping to get around to them this weekend. Denice

    The missing item always shows up a day or two later after I have replaced it, at my estate sale people will be shaking their heads and wonder why I have 5 needle tools or 3 identical pottery knives and the list goes on and on. Denice

    I had a professor also who threw with a thimble of water, he had special bats made for these huge platters. He would take 25 lbs of clay and have it centered and thrown in minutes. I thought of a couple of cheap stools that might work, a height adjustable roll around stool for home mechanics are cheap or a stool for a drum set. Just make sure they have a locking wheel feature, have fun working on your studio. Denice

    I agree with Chris and BigLou but I wouldn't trash it yet make two more and try modifications on each one and then compare. See what modifications you want to keep or throw out and then make another with your new changes. Denice

    Hello! No I don't have a studio yet. I'm in the middle of selling some industrial equipment and as soon as it sells, God willing, I will be buying a wheel and kiln : ). I had a kiln that I sold back in 94. I had gotten it used from a friend's mom. I use to do the ceramic mold thing. It was fun.

    Thanks for writing. I accidentally deleted the message before I finished reading all of it, but I appreciate your kind support. It boggles the mind that Mia is the moderator. She seems a little overly critical, and I am overly sensitive, so that is a bad combination. I did get a lot out of the rest of the posts though. I hope you have a great Christmas holiday!

    Hi Denice, thanks for writing. I think I will just try the mid fire Mayco glazes I have and test them out on myself, first. There were many good answers to my questions, but I will just have to try this or that. Wouldn't it be nice to have a reply button to write to people here that would also show what we said.     I saw that happen to one of my students when someone put fine sawdust in the reducing can. It was scary. Sorry you experienced that from thoughtless grad students.
