raising my wheel
Posted 7 May 2013
Several people have mentioned throwing with a raised wheel. Since this sounds less wearing on the back, I'm wondering if some who throw from a raised wheel could give guidance on how the height of a raised wheel relates to their throwing positions. I could easily manage a platform to raise the wheel, but I don't have a clue where to start with dimensions. I have an older Brent model B wheel, and wonder if there are other adjustments that would need to be made. Thanks for any input. -

Old kiln elements and relay switches
Posted 14 Mar 2013
I have an old SnoIndustires kiln model P22 with a spacer blank in the middle. Yesterday the top elements stopped firing, and my husband tells me that the electricity is going into top switch on the kiln, but not out. Does anyone have an idea where I can purchase a box for the top connection for this model? The other option is a new kiln, and I would love to have a digital model at a reasonable price. Any suggestions for home use kiln that gets fired 10-15 times a year? Thank you for your help.
