One idea I got from Ayumi Horie was to stop wasting the first page of your website on a boring list of links.
Everybody knows the function of the buttons ... it's kind of like the people who still give you directions
on how to use the phone message feature when you just want to hear the beep so you can start.

Keep the buttons across the top but fill the first page with excitement and ever changing topics.
This lets the visitor know you are keeping the site up to date and also entices to look beyond the first page.

If any of you track your hits you'll know that many of your visitors do not go beyond the first page, so grab
their attention right away so they mark it as a favorite and return.

In the isolation of a studio, an artist can begin to feel like an island, but in truth
we are all part of archipelagoes; chains of islands loosely connected by a stream
of information that enhances our Artwork.”
