Any Ideas For Makeshift Cone Holders?

I made a gift for my husband for Christmas that is waiting for the glaze firing. I ran out of my self-supporting cones for cone 06, and didn't realize it until yesterday. My local art store has cones, but no holders, or self-supporting cones. Is there any way I can still use the cones? Has anyone made their own cone holders?

Make a coil of clay then put the cones in the coil so that theyre at the right angle. Let it dry and you got the support. At least thats what Ive always done.

I use rake clay but any will do as long as it goes to your firing temperature. Put lots of pin holes in the coil after fixing the cones to stand at about 1 o'clock. You want to give them a start to melt in the right direction.
