I'm a high school art teacher. I have two kilns in the back of my multi-purpose classroom, which have been there for the last 40 years - Norman N-4 kilns. The coating on the outside of the kilns is now wearing away and I keep ending up with some metal dust in the kiln environment and fused into the glazes of my students' work. Can radiator paint, or something like that, be used to re-coat the outside of my kilns?

High heat aluminum sray paint will work-I have used it in a few gas kilns. Its silver color-like radiator paint.You will need to prep the surface first.
