Hi,

does anyone know if it is ok to put a transparent food safe glaze over unsafe coloured slips to make bowls food safe? thanks

It's okay and it may work, but it may not. It depends on how "unsafe" the slips are and how well the clear glaze seals them. Testing is the only way to know for sure.
