Hi there,

So I think I've officially made my first huge kiln mistake.... Somehow this morning when I started a glaze firing in my classroom (to 03) I managed to set the kiln on HIGH not low...... HOW THE HECK DID I MANAGE TO DO THIS?! Anyways.... The kiln was on high until I went to turn it up about 2 hours later..... I have turned it back down to medium at this point.

Is all hope totally lost?

I think you may be fine-just finish fire like regular.

I agree. Since you were starting from cold , it shouldn't have been to shocking.
Finish as usual.

As long as everything was bisqued already you should have no problems.

As everyone said above, there should be no problem. Unless there are problems, you have just learned how to fire your kiln correctly.

i noticed that my kiln goes off with the sitter and the knobs are all on high when that happens. i am careful to take them back to off when i open the kiln. maybe yours was on high from a previous firing. all is well.
