Hi there...I just started throwing with porcelain (cone 6) and would love to use slip to decorate the greenware. I tried to make slip from the wet clay from the pots while throwing, but it doesn't stay the right consistency. I'd like to put it in a slip trailing bottle and squeeze a little out at a time. I'm new to all of this and would like to make it as easy as possible. I was thinking of leaving the slip white, and dipping in clear glaze after a bisque firing. I guess I could also use some "words of wisdom" on brands of clear and colored glazes (cone 6) that people like. Thanks in advance!!Posted Image

I can't answer your question, but I am also curious about cone 6 clear glazes...the ones I've used on ^6 white stoneware so far (Amaco HF-9 and Coyote's clear) tend to have a bit of an off white tinge that, while giving it an "antique" look, isn't quite what I want.
