Hello,

after my first pitfiring last year I'm not sure if there's a difference... I thought himalaja salt is better (more minerals) but it is more expensive.

What do you say, is there a difference between table salt and himalaja salt when using in pit or barrel firing? Any viewable results? As I'm said, I'm not sure, as from a chemical point of view they are the same...

Kind regards

J.P.

I really don't think there should be a difference, as long as you are adding sodium and potassium to the pit both naturally and chemicly the sodium will give you the same result, sodium is too reliable to be that touchey.

And visually, no matter if it's sodium, potassium, or copper the forms really do effect the final piece, but himmalya salt is kind of a waste of money.

Thank you very much for your answer - and I'm very sorry for responding so late.
So I'll use next time only the cheaper table salt instead of the himalaya one.

Kind regards,
