Okay, so I was at the science supply store the other day and I was going to get some copper sulfate for a pit fire but I got copper chloride instead, can I still use this?

My guess is that it would give me yellow hues on the pots, but yet again it might blow up in my face or somthing.

It doesn't get a mention on here, so if you want some particular effect it's probably best to change it.

If you are using saggars you might get blushing pinks. Are you placing in with other combustibles like sawdust?
Avoid breathing the fumes. You should probably avoid breathing the fumes whether or not you use cupric chloride, but especial if you do. You don't want to breathe the chloride fumes. I fire in clay saggars and often use copper nitrate which I get a agricultural supply stores.
