I approached a local "gallery"/gift shop owner about carrying some of my work and she asked me to email her photographs. I was thinking of sending her 10 shots of recent work but I don't know what the appropriate size for such a mailing should be. Do any of you experienced heads have suggestions? If she just wants to view them on her computer, you could go as small as 8x10 at 72dpi. If she wants to print, they should be at least 240dpi. The higher resolution images will be much larger files sizes, so you might have to email them in several batches.

When I am emailing photos, I make them 800 pixels wide. This is large enough for good quality viewing, but small enough to transport by email. At this point, you don't want to send images that are large enough for reproducing. The gift shop hasn't earned that right yet!

I think ten images is too many. Send five well-chosen images instead.
