I am looking to purchase a small elec. kiln for my home studio. I thought I would purchase a Skutt 818 and just ran across an Excel Ex-226 for a considerable amount less. Does anyone have an Excel and how is that working for you? Also wondering if guality is same?

Skutt makes the Amaco Excel kilns.

The main difference between kilns is their durability and ease of maintenance. Most any kiln will get to the temperature it says it will, although some do it a little faster than others. If you would like specific recommendations, feel free to email me directly.
