Back in the day this was state of the art. It doeseverything I need which is to say it ramps up the kiln without me being present.You dial in ramp time (kiln switches are set to high) and in whatever hours you dialit will be on 100% full on in that time. The Dawson setter turns the kiln off orthe backup timer for a fail safe.

The brand is Fire right-I built this out of an old electricalbox and wired it up then mounted it next to kiln. Like a Timex its still keepsticking to this day.

We used those on the Alpine electric kilns for a long time, right up until 2003 when we switched to a touch pad controller. They worked great.
