12 kilometers northwest of Princeton, B.C. in the Tulameen River valley
Edo Pottery is located in the beautiful Tulameen River Valley in the southern interior of British Columbia. The Pottery is operated by Ed Staples, a retired arts teacher who now devotes his time to the creation of wheel thrown pots and hand made ceramic tiles. Ed lived and worked in Japan for ten years prior to retirement and his work is heavily influenced by Japanese ceramic traditions. He is presently exploring the endless possibilities of the bowl form; his work includes traditional Japanese tea bowls, raku and barrel fired bowls, and functional serving bowls.
